Back on the Fitness Track

If there’s one thing I’m not a fan of, it’s exercise. I’ve always been the “girly girl” who stayed on the side in PE class when we would play racquet ball or ultimate disk. My lack of hand-eye coordination and overall dislike of sweating has made me into a couch potato who would rather write blog posts and watch football than go running.

However, I’ve recently been modifying my junk food intake and swapping my daily beauty browse for a Pop Sugar Fitness peruse and a workout via YouTube. Gone are the days of my three scoop chocolate ice cream fests and going weeks without laying eyes on my running shoes (for now…) and instead, I’ve been lifting weights (light ones) and doing crunches with the help of Cassey at Blogilates and eating turkey burgers and lettuce wraps. My after school activities have morphed into brisk runs around the neighborhood and intense cardio workouts via Karen Lord’s Pilates Movement. I’ve been browsing around Nordstrom’s own Zella Activewear and Nike Women’s Spring Style Guide so that I won’t have to sacrifice style for comfort.

Overall, I’m feeling really good about my progress, even though I’m moving slowly and taking it one day at a time. I’m hoping to make my health and fitness a bigger priority throughout the year and look for long-term effects to enjoy for the rest of my life!
