This past August has arguably been the craziest month of my life thus far. I took a well-needed blogging break (which could possibly continue for the next few weeks) as I’ve begun adjusting to college life. I had a lot of free time to blog when I was in high school but now that I’m getting more involved at a university, I just don’t have enough time to write every day. Who knows what the next few months will look like, but I’m hoping that my next blogging break won’t last too long. We’ll discuss the matter soon.
Now that I’ve discussed logistical issues, let’s get to the makeup! I’ve had a handful of products that I could not live without this past month and I’m so excited to share them with you! The Simple Micellar Water was a new discovery for me in August. I’ve been obsessed with cleansing oils for the whole year but I wanted to try something new and less messy as I transitioned into dorm life. The micellar water feels just like water and doesn’t leave a greasy film on the skin. It’s not the best at removing eye makeup but for the face and brows, it’s the perfect everyday makeup remover. The Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer in the shade Ochre was my go-to product everyday. It feels really light on the skin but packs a punch in the coverage area. I’ve used this in both 80 and 107 degree weather and it stays put in both environments. I just need another tube shipped to Texas ASAP. Next up is The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 03 Medium Matte, which I’ve loved for years. This is the perfect smooth and matte bronzer that adds a tint of color to the skin without going orange. It lasts all day long and gives me the perfect warm, summer glow! Lastly is my treasured L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronzed Taupe. This shadow is like a pressed pigment, which looks almost glossy on the lids. I usually pack this on my eyelids and blend it out before applying a shed load of mascara to my upper and lower lashes. It’s an easy one-step smokey eye that’s gorgeous for the summer time!
