All That’s Left is the Graduating!

Graduating pictures

I’m officially all pau with undergrad! All of my homework and essays were turned in and I took my last finals yesterday. After seven all nighters in the span of three weeks (I know, I’m barely alive), I can finally sleep in my bed again. A full night’s sleep! What a concept! This semester was extremely difficult because I took three literature and two creative writing classes as well as two easy sections so I reached the number of credits I needed to ensure I’d be graduating on Saturday. I had to write six research papers and take three final exams over the past two weeks as graduating requirements and I truly don’t know how I lived through all of the stress and lack of sleep. I guess my hard work paid off, though, because I received A’s on each of my essays and finished the semester with four A’s (Writing for Social Change, Topics in Creative Writing, American Realism and Naturalism, and Gardening), two B’s (Shakespeare Selected Plays and English Literature of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries), and a 3.68 GPA! Can you believe? I just missed the Dean’s List, which I actually made last semester when I earned a 3.73 GPA and peaked forever. I unsurprisingly recorded my best grades and GPAs throughout my entire senior year because I took only English and Sociology classes (Criminology and Race and Ethnicity were my favorites!) that I was either interested in or fell in my major track. I wish I had the opportunity to take more creative writing, sociology, and criminal justice classes instead of dragging myself to all of the political science, religion, and science lectures that drove me insane and dropped my GPA to shit. I guess there’s no use in complaining now (but I’m gonna keep doing it anyway, right?), so instead, I’m thankful for all of my family, friends, and professors who motivated me and pushed me to focus on graduating and finishing my undergraduate time at the highest level possible. Next up: graduation!
