Urban Outfitters dress, Cole Haan shoes, Kate Spade bag (old)
I’ve mostly been reaching for fall appropriate clothing (see some of my previous dark-ish outfits here, here, and here) as we’re basically already in November (what a terrible year it’s been!), but I still have so many cute colorful outfits that I’m occasionally styling for work and play. Of course I’m the only one who cares whether my daily looks are seasonally applicable as it is HawaiĘ»i where we have no change of weather or environment, but I still want to match the time of year! The trick is, I think, to throw in the intermittent non-seasonal outfit in between all of the fall colors, patterns, and pieces. This summery yellow dress is one of my favorite easy pieces to wear to work (under a thin, white cardigan because it’s freezing in my office and I don’t want to show off too much boob for obvious reasons) and during other daytime activities because the fabric is extremely soft and flowy thanks to the tiered layers. I actually have several a yellow dress to come in future posts, but this featured one is the brightest and most sundress typecast, so it seems the least relevant for fall. I paired the dress with my favorite white Kate Spade bag I bought many years ago, but I wore it with my large brown carryall from Madewell when I went to work. I also styled the yellow dress with my white Cole Haan mules and tiny yellow gold hoop earrings that I wear all the time. Unrelated to the outfit, I put my hair up in two high pigtails, which initially felt extremely childish, but I liked how they looked with the dress! From here on out though, it’s fall outfits and hair looks only!
