I recently went to Target to browse the makeup section as per usual. The newly renovated aisles are really organized and the lighting is incredibly bright! Because I had a gift card I went a little overboard for one trip and decided to purchase the 5 items pictured above.
I hadn’t heard of any reviews on the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer ($6) before I picked it up, but the packaging completely lured me in. It’s very reminiscent of the UD makeup setting spray that I love so much but in a thick, priming form. The primer is not silicone-y at all which I love and it makes my makeup last so long! The L’Oreal True Match Foundation ($9) in W3 has been on my list for a while, as I’ve seen Amelia rave about the “Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk dupe”. I’m really enjoying using the foundation but I’m not quite sure how I feel about it yet. It has amazing coverage like Luminous Silk but it also feels a bit heavy on the skin. I will definitely be reporting back with my final thoughts on whether it’s a dupe or not! Sticking to face products, I picked up the Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder ($9) in 40 Nude because I’ve heard amazing things about the new powder! It gives my skin a really silky feeling and keeps me matte for hours. It’s a definite winner so far. I wanted to pick up a new bold lip color for the summer time and was immediately drawn to the Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm ($8) in Provocateur, which is a bold, pinky red. Although it’s called “lacquer balm”, it’s not incredibly shiny as I expected. It has gorgeous pigmentation and lasts quite a while on the lips without fading. The formula of the balm sticks is amazing and I will be picking up more shades for the summer! Last but not least is a nail polish that I did a post on yesterday. The Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Varnish ($5) in Skylight is a beautiful teal/robin’s egg blue that is absolutely perfect for the warmer months!
The drugstore is full of brand new collections and beauty products for the summer time and I highly recommend checking out your local store for more options!
