The “quick trip to Sephora” to pick up a couple of items inevitably ends up $200 later with a happy Noelle and a fat black shopping bag. This time, I went into the holy store with my mom to check out a few new products and to sift around in my favorite makeup aisles. Of course, I ended up spending a chunk of extra holiday cash and left the store with a glorious bag full of beautiful products.
The first product I picked up is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel for Combo-Oily skin. The iconic yellow container has held “holy grail status” for decades among beauty and skincare gurus. I tried a sample size of the moisturizer and I instantly fell in love. No promises yet, but I’m sure that the lightweight gel will become my new favorite skincare item. Next up is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation in the shade Light Sand. I’ve heard amazing reviews of this moisturizing powder foundation and I couldn’t wait any longer to get my hands on it. The packaging is beautiful and the color match is spot on! The Bliss Fabulous Makeup Melt Gel to Oil Cleanser is the new kid on the oil block with a unique texture and process. Instead of using an oily cleanser to remove makeup, users are applying a thicker gel to dry skin, which then melts off all products like a dream. It’s really weird to start off with, but I think I’ll get the hang of it soon. For dark circles, the Tarte CC Undereye Corrector in Light-Medium is the guy for the job. The salmon-toned product is creamy and insanely pigmented- perfect for those pesky bags. The Ole Henriksen The Whole Truth Vitamin C Kit is an insane bargain for the products provided. I spotted this for my mom who’s had trouble with dark spots and (what she likes to call) dull skin. The three piece kit has the brand’s cult classic Collagen booster and a moisturizer and eye cream for those with more mature skins. Last but not least is another Natalie purchase in the form of the Dior Star Fluid Foundation in Linen to replace her favorite Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. This little guy a luminous medium-coverage base for every day wear with it’s lightweight texture and SPF 30.
Dang, I love Sephora runs.
