Reformation top, Quince skirt, Lilly Pulitzer shoes via Poshmark (similar here and here), Kinn Studio necklace, Gorjana necklace
Since I started working at my new company last August, I’ve had so many new experiences from leading advisory council meetings to facilitating working groups with commissioners, interviewing and hiring candidates, presenting my work to executives, and attending fundraising events. I attended my first fundraiser at the beginning of last November (remember my super fancy secondhand outfit I ordered entirely on Poshmark?), which was one of my favorite experiences since I began my new position as I got to meet and eat with lots of my new coworkers in person! Everyone was so kind to me and I had a wonderful time with them. Last weekend when I was on Maui, I was invited to attend another fundraiser (hence the also fancy beige and blue outfit above!) with my Maui County coworkers—most of whom I’d never met before. I’d never previously been to a fundraiser before because I do not love nonprofits (anti-nonprofit post coming soon!), but I do love spending time with my coworkers, eating for free, and finding cute outfits to style! I initially was going to wear the same look I put together for my partner’s and my Valentine’s Day dinner—another mostly secondhand outfit—but instead opted for a beige top and navy blue skirt I hadn’t worn since being gifted both during my birthday and Christmas time! The beige top is a knotted slightly off the shoulder piece from Reformation that fits like a dream and is super comfortable. I love how the fabric feels against my skin and looks even better tucked into trousers or a skirt like the one I’m wearing. I paired the top with a silk navy skirt from Quince that’s cut on the bias and drapes beautifully. Most midi dresses and skirts cut me mid-calf where my legs are the largest, but this skirt hits right at above my ankle for a much more flattering hem. I accessorized my outfit with my favorite Lilly Pulitzer heels from Poshmark and lots of my favorite gold and silver jewelry!
