The Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer

On a recent trip to Sephora, I was making my way to the checkout line when I got caught in the “aisle of doom”. If you’re a frequent Sephora shopper you will know what I’m talking about. The AOD is the section of travel sized or miniature versions of the store’s bestselling products that each shopper must walk through before (s)he gets to the counter. On that visit, I was being good and only picked up a bottle of foundation that I was supposed to buy until I spotted the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. I’ve been researching and studying this product for around a year and when I saw the mini version, I popped it right in my Sephora basket.

After a few uses, I have not been very impressed by this “must have”. The primer immediately feels oily on the skin (even though it’s supposed to suck up oil) and doesn’t fill in my pores. Although most beauty bloggers and Sephora insiders consider this to be one of the best primers, I disagree. My skin was even more greasy after 5-6 hours of using this than any other primer I own. It could be that I didn’t shake the product enough or I chose a dud bottle but so far, this one is a thumbs down from me.
