A Double Pink Manicure in Autumn

Pink manicure in autumn

When I was in college, one of my favorite bi-monthly activities was going to get my nails and toes done with Jonathan and Lo at Elegant Nail Spa Waco! I got my first gel manicure ever with Lo who introduced me to the wonders of gel and dip polish and constantly bullied me into having well-kept, colorful nails so she wouldn’t have to look at my horrid natural nails. Jonathan only joined us for the pedicure part, but I still always associate mani/pedis with the two of them. I don’t get mani/pedis anymore aside from the odd times when I’ll go with my mom and/or sister (this was the lone gel manicure I had last year and it’s one of my favorites ever!) and since it’s expensive to have them professionally done, I’ve made DIY attempts of my own every month or so. I hate painting my nails because I tend to smudge them even though they’ve been drying for hours and they chip fairly quickly. After I had my favorite ever green and gold gel manicure applied for our trip to Waco at the end of September through early October (seen in this post), I wanted to have an equally fun and girly nail look for my sister’s recent wedding. There’s nothing better than a fresh set of gel nails because although it’s wonderful to paint my own nails as an affordable and easily changed option, gel lasts 3-4 weeks and never chips! Although autumn usually calls for deeper, warmer shades, I opted for a double pink manicure with a combination of bubblegum pink and cool raspberry! I loved how my nails looked when I had green on one had and gold on the other, so I put bubblegum on my left hand and raspberry on the right. They paired perfectly with the bright yellow dress with pink ribbons I wore to the wedding, and will continue to match each of my outfits for the next couple of weeks. I’m thrilled to have colorful nails as long as they last and I can’t wait to get my holiday/birthday nails done soon!
