A Day in Dallas

Last month a few of my friends and I went to Dallas for a Japanese extra credit opportunity. The activity was a mochi festival with games and performances by local Japanese students. I love mochi more than most foods so I wasn’t about to turn down a free road trip to eat it freshly pounded (it actually tasted horrible). Unfortunately my experiences with mochi has it mixed with sugar, not simply pounded rice. Nevertheless we had a great time writing kanji sheets, buying omiyage for our sensei, folding origami and leaving early because there was nothing else to do! We ended up going to the Northpark mall to buy chocolate, found (mainland) ramen and ate donuts stuffed with ice cream. I give the food a solid 9.5 except for the janky haole ramen.
