One of the first posts I ever wrote on my blog was an information post collecting personal facts about me. I always enjoy learning fun facts about my favorite musicians, athletes, etc. and I wanted to bring back this well-loved post. As I’ve grown up, the facts I wrote about in the past aren’t as applicable to who I am now. Here are some updated details about me (since you’re all so interested…)
- My dream is to become a football coach. I know that this will be an extremely difficult task as women have very little representation in the NCAA and NFL and most fans will say that if you can’t play the sport, you can’t coach it. Fortunately, these opinions only push me to fervently pursue my goal until the day I finally walk on the field with my team by my side.
- Being on the mainland for school has taught me to appreciate my home so much more than I have in the past. I used to hate living in a place that’s always hot and I never liked going to the beach. Ironically, as I realized how quickly I would be leaving home, I learned to love Hawai‘i. Nowadays I love hiking and spending hours in the ocean.
- During my free time, I’ve been taking ‘ōlelo Hawai‘i classes online to try and become more fluent in Hawaiian language!
- I have a wonderful relationship with my parents and my sister.
- Over the past month or so, I’ve become completely obsessed with Hamilton the musical. I’ve always loved musicals (especially Les Mis and RENT) and Hamilton is just incredible. I’m hoping that I’ll get to see it in person one day!
- I made the decision to stop writing about makeup and focus more on fashion and football when I realized that I established a collection of beauty products I loved so I no longer felt the need to shop for more makeup.
- On that note, the beauty products I use every single day are: Makeup Forever Step 1 Mattifying Primer, Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer in Ochre, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard, Bare Minerals Mineral Veil, Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette, Urban Decay Perversion Mascara in Black, eyeshadows vary on a day-to-day basis, The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 03, Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed, and NARS Lipstick in Dolce Vita.
- My favorite musicians are Sleeping At Last, The National, Billy Joel, Daughter, and Marvin Gaye.
- I have a notebook full of football facts/statistics, notes, and mementos, which I carry with me everywhere I go.
- I spend most of my money shopping for jeans, jackets, and swimsuits.
- Sports make me really emotional.
- I never learned how to properly read sheet music so I’ve always listened to what my instrumental part should sound like and then memorized it by ear after that.
- The foods from home that I miss the most while in college are poi mochi, haupia, and dim sum.
- I love researching stats and other information about Baylor football players and future recruits in order to update my football knowledge.
- I’m currently majoring in journalism but I actually hate writing articles (I know that’s ironic since I have a blog). My dream would be to major in watching football games and analyzing every detail.
- My favorite place to travel to is San Francisco!
- I’ve always dreamt of having my own band in which I’d sing and alternate between playing guitar, accordion, bass, ukulele, oboe, percussion, harmonica, djembe, and sax.
- I love watching basketball and am just as excited to watch players on the court as I am to see those on the field.
- Spending time by myself is absolutely essential in order for me to maintain stability.
- One of my favorite things about my friends is that we can spend hours together laying on the beach or sitting around and we always have a great time. I consider them to be like my family and I always miss them!
- I could eat breakfast food for every meal of the day. I love breakfast so much. Ron Swanson and I would be best friends.
- I would love to live in Hawai‘i for the rest of my life with my family and friends, but if I had the opportunity to become a college football coach, I would live wherever I had to.
- It’s been one of my New Year’s resolutions to get over my fear of singing/playing music for other people but I haven’t been able to accomplish that goal yet.
- I take great pride in being both Hawaiian and Japanese.
- This blog is one of my greatest accomplishments and I hope to continue writing for the rest of my life!
