The Baylor Bears finished National Signing Day on a high note, collecting LOIs from every committed player in the 2016 class. Although the incoming freshman class was the highest ranked in the Art Briles era (#18 in the nation), the Bears were looking at the seven commits in the 2017 group as the shining troop that could possibly finish in the top 10. As the recruiting season moves along, it should be expected that high schoolers will change their minds and decide to commit and decommit form schools. The Bears saw the sting of the latter as 5 star LB Baron Browning decommitted yesterday and opened up his recruitment. Browning was arguably the biggest verbal commit in this era of Baylor football and top schools all over the nation have noticed the power and speed of the 6’4 230 lb athlete. Browning currently holds offers from 34 schools and recorded 108 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 4 passes broken up, 4 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 safety, 1 fumble recovered for a TD, one INT returned for a TD, and 2 total INTs in his career thus far. Here’s hoping that Coach Briles and co. will reel Browning in again to become a Bear.
