The 2017 NFL Draft brought some surprises, many tears, and Goodell boos (my favorite), although only one Baylor Bear was chosen within the seven rounds. As the 243rd pick, C Kyle Fuller was picked by the Houston Texans. Within the past 10 years, Baylor has had seven offensive linemen selected in the draft, with Fuller the first picked since 2010. The three-time All-Big 12 OL started 39 consecutive games and collected 68 knockdowns. WR KD Cannon signed an UFA contract with the San Francisco 49ers where he will try to make the active roster. In his three seasons at Baylor, the 2017 Cactus Bowl offensive MVP recorded 195 receptions for 3,113 yards and 27 TDs. Fellow WR Ishmael Zamora also signed an UFA contract a bay over with the Oakland Raiders (fangirling over the fact he might get to play with Beastmode). Zamora left two seasons early after he accumulated 72 receptions for 941 yards and 10 TDs. S Orion Stewart signed a contract with the Denver Broncos as an UFA after an improved senior season. In his collegiate career, the three-time All-Big 12 athlete recorded 261 tackles, 2 sacks for a loss of 16 yards, 6.5 TFL of 22 yards, 1 forced fumble, 3 fumble recoveries, 15 punt deflections, 12 INTs for 227 yards, and 2 TDs. Good luck in the big leagues, Bears!
