2013 Beauty Favorites!

Welcome back everyone! I’m so sorry that I haven’t posted anything after my blog’s birthday. I just got home from my trip to Pasadena and I’ve been exhausted! I’ve gathered up the “best of the best” beauty wise throughout 2013. Over the past 12 months I’ve accumulated many favorite products but I wanted to make sure that these were the absolute best. Let’s jump into it!

To start off, I have a serum favorite and a moisturizer that I’ve loved throughout the past year. My Sei Bella Age-Defying Serum has been well loved and used every morning and night for around 8 months! I’ve gone through a good two bottles of this amazing liquid and it has not failed to make my skin look incredible! The Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer has been my moisturizer of choice as the ingredients are very gentle and kind to the skin. There are loads of vitamins and nutrients inside and the fact that it’s hypoallergenic is a win in my book!

I have two foundation favorites, which won’t be hard to guess. For the daytime, I loved using my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation in the shade B30. Although the color is a bit light, I’ve found it to look beautiful blended onto the skin and down the neck with fingers to get an effortless and easy look. Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in Sand Beige has been my favorite for long days and nights out. The lack of SPF is great for nights when I know that I’m going to take pictures so that I don’t get a flashback face. The coverage is great and the shade is a wonderful match! For concealer, I used the Revlon Colorstay Concealer in Light Medium because of the full coverage and the amazing longevity! The small tube has lasted me for a while and I know that it will stay in my makeup bag for the time to come. My powder of choice has been the Chanel Poudre Universelle in Reverie as it looks gorgeous on the cheekbones and on the high points of the face as a highlight! The finely milled grains of powder are incredibly easy to blend and it looks subtle yet bold at the same time.

For the eyes, I had to include my absolute favorite eye base, which is the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. I’m almost at the bottom of the deep pot and I can’t wait to pick up another! The cream base makes eyeshadow last a good 24 hours without a crease or flake! It’s amazing and best eye primer I’ve found yet. My Bobbi Brown Rich Chocolate Eye Palette is of course my favorite beauty buy of 2013. There, I said it. The palette is filled with the most gorgeous and buttery soft shadows that I’ve ever tried. I’ve used and loved every shade in the beautiful brown packaging and they are all amazing. The L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Bronzed Taupe has also been another eyeshadow favorite of mine. The pressed powder/cream texture is unlike anything I’ve ever used. I’m in love with the mix of gold and silver shimmer running throughout! Although I’ve loved using the Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara this year, I can’t help but share that the Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara in Black has been my favorite. The thin, plastic brush grabs each individual lash and coats it with the perfect amount of volume and definition. It truly is an amazing product that I’ve loved since the first time I used it in 2006.

I have four lip favorites, which coincidentally, are mainly berry shades. I’ve used the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Plum Jam for the entire year and I’m down to the last few applications. The glossy balm texture is amazing to throw on for lazy days and it instantly makes everything look put together. I talked about my obsession with a new Melaleuca lipstick here, and I’m still obsessed with it! The Sei Bella lipstick in Rosewood has a gorgeous iridescent sheen to it and it glides on so easily. A recent addition to my berry lipstick collection is the luxurious Burberry Lip Mist in Oxblood. Sweet Jesus, the color and formulation are absolutely heavenly! It is hands down my favorite lipstick that I’ve ever used (with the one from Melaleuca running a close 2nd!) and I can’t wait to share it with you guys in its own post coming soon! Last but not least, I have a lip lacquer that’s been going great with my brown smoky eye favorites. The Maybelline Color Elixir in the shade Caramel Infused is the perfect pinky-nude shade to add a bit of color without the intensity of a lipstick. I’ve been pairing it with my Chanel foundation and a sparkly bronze smoky eye.

For fragrance and nails I have two products that have been absolutely amazing! My fragrance of choice throughout the year has been the Kate Spade Live Colorfully Perfume in the tiny rollerball version. The scent is very floral and smells of Plumerias! It has been great throughout the year on the neck and wrists for a hint of perfume. I’ve been getting into painting my nails recently, and OPI Vernis in The Next CEO has been my holiday go-to nail color. The mixture of gold and silver iridescence is beautiful and looks great when it catches the light! I’m definitely going to start experimenting with nail polishes throughout the year (paints fresh coat of OPI Bubble Bath while typing)!

Well there you have it; my beauty favorites from 2013! 2013 was a year filled with new skincare and makeup discoveries, and I can’t wait to try out some more products in 2014! I would also love to hear what some of your favorite beauty products were throughout these past 12 months!
